The Home Baker Behind Lissa’s Custom Cookies

Hello! My name is Lissa, and I started Lissa’s Custom Cookies in 2019.

I’ve loved to bake for as long as I can remember. As a little girl, I had the Better Homes and Gardens Junior Cookbook—a much smaller version of the big red checkered one that I saw my mom use so regularly. As a sugar cookie baker and decorator, I’m mostly self-taught. It interested me first as a hobby, and soon it became a full-fledged passion and joy!

I’ve always been crafty, and I’ve always loved learning. Creating custom cookies gives me the opportunity to try new techniques and make something special for all of life’s special milestones and celebrations. It really does bring me so much joy to bake for you, and I hope that comes through in the cookies that you share with your family and friends.

Baking is actually not my day job. I’m an elementary assistant principal and love the work that I do each day. Believe it or not, most nights when I come home from school I switch gears and jump into cookie decorating. I consider myself doubly-blessed because I love both of these parts of my life so much!
